Rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS…. and Again I Say Rejoice
Rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS…. and Again I Say Rejoice…. Are you kidding me! There are days I want to meet the world with a verbal rolling pin and knock the snot out of everyone in my path! Now, maybe you are more mature than I am; maybe you don’t have days like that…. or maybe you don’t want to admit it! All of us have days where we feel about as spiritually high as a snake’s belly in a wagon rut! There are days where we feel like the preacher that was talking to his buddy: “Ever have a day where you just can’t wait to rebuke somebody?” There are days where we feel like pulling the covers over our heads and never ever come out again. Notice I said “FEEL”. Sometimes we feel what we feel… BUT when it comes to our feelings, we CAN’T trust them! No matter how we feel, it does NOT change the truth of any given situation. Do our feelings, matter – YES, of course they do. We need to own them (acknowledge); cry them out to God and even a trusted friend if need be (confess our faults one to another that we might be healed); and continue to work through them until they line up with the Word of God (Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the Word of God)!
So…. is there anything else I can do to get out of my “slump”. Glad you asked… Start praising God. No matter how we feel, we need to start praising God! I don’t think Paul and Silas felt like praising God after being whipped and put in prison – they sang praises anyway. The outcome, they were set free and they made an amazing impact on all those around them! We have sooooooo much to be grateful for. We could spend literally days and days praising God for the many blessings in our lives. PRAISE GOD! Also, get with someone who, as scripture says, will “spur us onto good works” – someone who will encourage us in the Lord. We sure don’t need to be around negative nannies during these times. Get into the Word. The Psalms are especially rich during these times. And finally: JUST DO IT!!! No matter how we may feel, we need to JUST DO whatever scripture admonishes us to do. Today, I choose to “Rejoice in the Lord Always… and again I say rejoice. How about you? #praisingmyJesus #gettingoutofthemullygrubs
