I was raised in a wonderful Christian home. But from the age of ten, I was given medication for anxiety. When I was a sophomore in high school, my parents divorced. This left me feeling lost and broken. I felt God let me down. I chose to hang out with the wrong crowd and soon began partying and drinking. I was sexually abused by a guy one night. After this I turned to drugs to help cope with the growing level of pain in my life.
From here I went through many boyfriends. One introduced me to Oxycontin and I was immediately hooked. After losing all I had and most relationships, I went into a secular drug program. But when I came out I started using heroin. I was worse than ever and farther from God.
After a friend died from drug overdoes, my family suggested I try Teen Challenge. Since walking through the doors of TC, my life has never been the same. The Lord has so wonderfully transformed my life. I am now a graduate of the program. I don’t need any medication or drugs, but I have peace.
My fiancé, Cameron, came into the program four months after me, and recently completed the program. We were married on his last day in the program! God is so good to us!
