“My parents were very loving toward me and my two sisters, but they had their own issues and separated on my fourteenth birthday. That is when things started going downhill for me. My mom wanted to be more of a friend than a mom. I was always trying to fit in at school, so with the freedom my mom allowed me, I started using recreational drugs and drinking alcohol at the age of sixteen. By the age of nineteen, I was arrested for my first DUI.
At the age of twenty-four, my girlfriend at the time and I had a beautiful baby boy. I tried to get my life together, but I always had this emptiness in my heart and my addiction kept coming back. After four and a half years of being together, my addiction and selfish ways broke us up.
At the age of twenty-seven, I was arrested for my second DUI. I lost my job, my house, my car and I ended up homeless on the streets. My family still loved me but they were done enabling me. By the grace of God, my older sister found out I was homeless on the streets and she and her mother-in-law picked me up and said I could stay with them if I entered a program. They gave me information about Teen Challenge, so I called them right away.
I entered the center on September 16, 2015. Four days later I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I have been on fire ever since. I never read the Bible before I came to Teen Challenge and now I cannot get enough. He has restored my relationship with my mother, father, and sisters. I get to see my son twice-a-month and his mother and I get along great. God gets all the glory, but I thank Him for using Teen Challenge as a tool to change my life around. I am now back at home and I am working with my father in the family business. Thank you for all your prayers and support for me in my time of need.”
